Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

Coaching is defined as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires and empowers them to maximize their potential and performance—both personally and professionally.

Simplified, coaching is a creative path of awakening. The true essence of coaching is not giving advice or telling people what to do. Rather, it is curating space for new possibilities in your life to emerge.

How does coaching differ from therapy?

In short… Therapy heals the past. Coaching creates the future.

The coaching process is active, present focused, and forward looking. We partner together to develop and sharpen your toolkit to address specific life challenges over a relatively short period of time in route to your desired outcomes.

Therapy can be similar, but tends to be more past-focused, pattern-oriented, and open-ended — hence why you may hear of people being in therapy for years. Therapists have clinical training to treat issues like depression, anxiety, and trauma that have more severe effects on one's life.

So, while both reside in the same family, they are quite distinct. They are like first cousins.

What is divinity coaching?

In essence, divinity coaching is a succinct way of describing one who is skilled in enlightenment, empowerment, holistic, ontological, spiritual development coaching. Awakening individuals to their own sense of worthiness, authoritative power and source energy, radically shifting modus operandi from survive to thrive.

Ontology is the study of being: the human condition, the core of who we are as spiritual beings having a human experience. It is the heart of all coaching. The Ontological Mindful Ecological coaching framework holistically explores “ways of being” as a means for producing quantum shifts in perception and behavior (ontology), cultivates awareness of what’s going on in our bodies, our feelings, our minds and the world (mindfulness), and connects to relationships that interlink us to each other and to our social and natural environment (ecology). What is your approach/philosophy?

Coaching is a journey of awakening, mastery, and creation. I believe effective coaching is a creative partnership that shifts our perceptual worlds—our worldview, interpretations, and language—in such a way that powerfully disrupts our auto-pilot and reshapes our lives with intention and integrity. My coaching methodology infuses principles and tools from the ontological, mindful, ecological coaching model and the cognitive behavioral coaching (CBC) framework. I describe my coaching philosophy with 4 pillars:

  1. Intention

  2. Inquiry

  3. Insight

  4. Integration

Why do I need coaching?

No one needs coaching. We choose coaching. Consider an Olympic athlete. The job of a training coach is to help their athlete (or team) win the gold. Hiring a “life coach” is like having someone in your corner who always wants to see you conquer adversity and win in the game of life. The benefits of having a coach are as follows:

  • Reach your goals and objectives in any life domain (career, relationships, health, spirituality) more rapidly

  • Develop more effective leadership skills

  • Challenge limiting thoughts and beliefs about yourself and the world

  • Achieve clarity regarding your vision, mission, and purpose

Taking the wrecking ball to our old lives can be a scary thought to consider because it’s familiar. It’s what we know. But once we embrace it, it makes the renovation a fun process. Imagine the feeling of standing, facing your dream luxury home that you yourself created. This could be your life. Beautiful thought, right?

How much does it cost?

Coaching is an investment. You are investing in yourself. It is an arguably the most valuable investment you will ever make in yourself. My encouragement is for individuals to invest at the level of your desired outcomes and the level you desire to play.

Many coaches, like myself, have a menu of offers. My offers start at an investment of $2K. Working with me one-on-one is a premium offer that requires a larger investment.

Many organizations offer a professional development stipend for their leaders—and in many case their employees. Reach out to your HR team and explore resources that are available to you. That’s what this journey is all about… BEING RESOURCEFUL!
